Students Cody Crawford, Josh Hamilton and Scott Houston have received $1,000, an all expenses paid trip to the National Geographic Explorers Symposium and will have their PSA air on the National Geographic Channel. The students won this award by submitting a class assignment in Animation to the National Geographic PSA contest. The final assignment in Animation was to create a Public Service Announcement that was 30 seconds in length in stop-motion animation. All students in the class submitted their work to the contest, but Houston’s group had a sharp message. “I think the simple and well executed message is what put this talented group at the top of the heap,” explains Professor Cleveland who taught the Animation course last fall. “We are so proud of their hard work.”

The PSA will premiere on the National Geographic Channel during Earth Day programming, April 22nd.
